The Fall of the Hero was born from the idea of merging two very similar worlds and giving the characters of those worlds their own personality. Due to the limited duration dictated by the timeframe of a game jam, I already knew that I wouldn't be able to give characterization to all the characters.

At the same time, I wanted to create a lighthearted story with ironic situations and, in some cases, bordering on the absurd. Actually, I had already created a characterization for Michelle and her friends in another project and I liked the idea of somehow connecting the two worlds, like a crossover between characters from different games and stories.

To do this, I picked up a project that still needs to be fully developed in my mind (Sturdust or Polvere di stelle in the original language) and I transported everything into the idea of giving more space to characters that usually only serve as a background for the protagonists.

I wanted to highlight the idea that in this game, well-known characters would be relegated to a corner to give more space to their allies, keeping a characterization based on the trust they have in their companions, without despair or discouragement, only trust in their friends. I'm sure I made some unpopular choices in some cases, choices that could penalize the judgment of the players, but that's okay. If I had changed the tone in which the game develops, Michelle would never have forgiven me. 😜
